The Parent (Family) Empowerment Sessions are designed to be an effective outreach resource to those involved in the lives of the students attending Nap Ford Community Charter School. These time-sensitive, culturally relevant sessions are intended to augment the school’s instructional philosophy-teaching for understanding. These sessions are also designed to align with the collective goals established for our students.
Goals of Parent (Family empowerment Trainings):
- Empower parents to be optimal fathers and mothers to their child(ren).
- Provide parents with the tools needed to be positive change agents within their families.
- Increase knowledge of the vital role that parents play in the success of their children.
- Explore feelings and thoughts about the variables that challenge fatherhood as well as motherhood.
- Enhance parents’ self-awareness and self-efficacy.
- Provide parents with techniques that will positively impact their parenting and the self-esteem of their children.
- Increase parents’ knowledge about the various dimensions that they have within themselves
