A charter school is a non-profit, self-managed public school operating
under a performance contract with the local school board. Although charter
schools are authorized and monitored by the local school district, they
operate independently of the local school district. Charter schools
are sometimes referred to as independent public schools. As schools
of choice, charter schools are held to strict accountability for the
academic and financial performance of the school.

Any Orange County resident who qualifies to attend a regular public
school in Orange County may apply to attend the Nap Ford Community School.

The school will serve pre-kindergarten through fifth grades.
How can
I enroll my child?
Registration has begun and is on-going at 648 West Livingston Street
from 8:00 to 4 p.m. daily. Parents must register their children in person.
The school has an open admissions procedure that utilizes a "first come
first serve" policy. If applicants exceed grade level capacity a waiting
list is established by a random selection process.
Is
there an after school program?
Yes, an after school fee-based program is available.
Can
community members become volunteers?
Community members are required to volunteer but must submit to the
required background check. Parents are expected to volunteer a minimum
of 6 hours per grading period.
Is
there a dress code policy?
Nap Ford is a uniform school. The colors are navy blue bottoms, and
white or gold school logo tops.
What will
be taught at the Nap Ford Community School?
The core curriculum will consist of the basic academic subjects with
an emphasis on "wellness". Traditional subjects will be linked to academic,
